Jamaican Vacation Day 6 and Day 7

I didn't take any pictures on Thursday... we did about the same thing all over again.  It was still rough weather but the sun was out more.  Cameron played 13 rounds of corn hole and he won every time!  What an accomplishment.

Friday we went on another excursion to Negril.   First though we tried to paddle board again but since the sea was too rough we went kayaking.  Here is a picture of the resort we stayed at from the water.  Not too bad looking right?

We went to 7 mile beach in a taxi with some couples from Cameron's team.  They had to make a little post card to send to the guy who didn't go... The beach was nice but there were tons of people hawking things to us and I didn't appreciate that all that much.  Let's just say whatever you wanted to buy was available on that beach!
We then went to the rock house cafe to see the sun set.  It was a very beautiful location and made the entire day worth it!  The food was great and the views were amazing.  One thing to note about Jamaica... they do not do anything quickly.  After a week on the island we were pretty relaxed and used to dinner being a 3 hour affair.

Jamaican Vacation Day 5

Funny how relaxing just sitting on the beach, swimming in the ocean and swimming in the pool can be.  We basically did a repeat of the day although this day was pretty cool and we actually never got in the water much but just enjoyed laying out.  We enjoyed good company and tried a lot of the "virgin drinks."My favorite thing was trying a coconut.  It is amazing how much water is in one of these!  For dinner we enjoyed Asian food and good company.

Jamaican Vacation day 4

By the fourth day we were ready for a change so we decided to go on an excursion.
The morning ended up a little overcast and it had been raining overnight.  We went on a tour of the Martha Brae River on a bamboo raft.  Here I am with our guide.  He was a cute Jamaican man who had guided on the river for the past 30 years.  I really enjoyed getting to know him and see what the Jamaican jungle was all about.  He knew what every kind of flower and plant or bird was.

 Here are some banana trees.

I just love seeing all the jungle vegetation
 Here is a crane

It was a fun excursion and we enjoyed doing it.  We then enjoyed the afternoon on the beach.

Jamaican Vacation Day 3

Cameron had a meeting for work in the morning and I planned to do some yoga.  But when I walked by the water it was very calm and I realized that I wanted to paddle board.  I really enjoyed paddle boarding.  The water was very clean and I could see down to the bottom of the ocean from wherever I was.  I paddle boarded for about an hour and then relaxed by the beach until it was time for me to join Cameron at his work meeting.

The meeting we went to with them was so they could give their employees some awards.  Each person was called up and the owner of the company and Cameron's manager said nice things about them.  Cameron was told that he was a highly principled man who can adapt to change easily... (he has had a lot of change in his short time as an employee.)

Here are all the employees who came on the trip with Prinsco.  They are holding their awards.
After the formal meeting we had a picture scavenger hunt where we broke up into teams and had to find certain things around the resort to take pictures of.  We also got extra points for creativity.  We had fun going around the island and getting to know the people in our group.  When we found the starfish, Cameron volunteered to go in the water and get them.  He ended up with this picture.

Here is a crab we saw on our adventures.
Also we found the peacock showing his feathers.
We did not win the contest but it was still fun.  We later ended up on the beach and I swam some laps.  Cameron found this conch in the ocean.  It was alive.  He did not think we could keep it so he put in back in the ocean.

When we came back to our room they had folded my blanket up like a swan... I wish someone made my bed everyday!
Later that night we went to a steel drum performance.  It was pretty cool.  They had lots of dancing and singing plus of course... the steel drums.

jamaican vacation day 2

We repeated the beach thing again all day.  We enjoyed taking out a kayak and paddling around the bay.  We went in the ocean and we went in the pool.  It was pretty fun.  Later the clouds built up and we had quite the rainstorm that we watched from our hotel room.

That night Cameron's company planned a welcome dinner for all their employees to come.  When we sat down for dinner they had purses set out on every other seat.  All the women got to pick a new purse and the men (all were employees) got a new bag and a new Prinsco shirt.  Then we had a wonderful Jamaican dinner that was catered.  I really enjoyed meeting all the other salesmen and their wives.  Prinsco hires wonderful people to work for them.

Here is a video of the storm.

Jamaica Vacation Day 1

Cameron earned a trip to Jamaica for the both of us for meeting some sales goals his company set.  We ended up going to Montego Bay to an all inclusive resort.  It was a red-eye flight to Atlanta followed by another flight to Jamaica but we finally arrived.  (Delta had some incredibly small seats on the first half of the plane ride... I wonder how I can avoid flying on those planes again?)  The airport was a little bit of a pain to go through customs but eventually we arrived outside the gates and met our driver to the resort.  Prinsco did a great job picking a resort and it was beautifully placed on the end of a pennisula all by itself.

Here is a picture of our view from our hotel room.  I couldn't complain!

Here is a view of the inside of the room.  It was a nice room with a nice tub and shower.  The balcony had a couple chairs and a table too which was wonderful!
We settled in and changed into our suits and then went to find lunch.  We found this peacock.
We spent the first afternoon swimming in the ocean, going to the pool and enjoying ourselves.  Later we accidently snuck into the preferred room pool area and enjoyed using their warm and cool pools.

Once it was dark we were surprised by all the sounds that the bugs make in Jamaica.  Here is a video of that.  That night we met with Prinsco employees and had a great dinner.
