THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOWFALL...WHICH IS IN EFFECT
FROM 4 AM TO 10 PM PST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO
LONGER IN EFFECT.
SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP TONIGHT...POSSIBLY BECOMING
HEAVY AT TIMES WEDNESDAY. SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO DECREASE
WEDNESDAY NIGHT. SNOWFALL OF 6 TO 14 INCHES IS POSSIBLE ABOVE 4000
FEET...MAINLY EAST OF THE CAJON PASS WITH AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES
POSSIBLE BELOW 4000 FEET. LOCALLY GREATER AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE IN
HEAVY SHOWERS. AS THE STORM PROGRESSES...SNOW LEVELS COULD FALL
BELOW 3000 FEET WITH ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO 3 INCHES IN HEAVIER
SHOWERS. VISIBILITIES COULD BE REDUCED TO NEAR ZERO AT TIMES IN
BLOWING SNOW.
RESIDENTS AND TRAVELERS INTO THE MOUNTAINS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR
HAZARDOUS WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS AND POSSIBLE ROAD CLOSURES.
IF POSSIBLE...CARRY CHAINS AND TAKE EXTRA FOOD AND CLOTHING.
A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW...
SLEET...AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO
POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.
