Our first day of skiing at Mammoth was snowy and cold. I think the high was about 15 degrees and it felt like it. It had snowed all morning and there were 3-5 inches depending on the effects of the wind all over the mountain. I have never really skied on powder but I finally had no choice but to try since it was uniform all over the mountain. We had a lot of fun playing in the powder and enjoying a lot of runs. I even accidentally skied down a black diamond and with all the powder it wasn't too bad... and was actually my favorite run.
We took a picture of the terrain park because it was amazing. It was set up for a big Olympic qualifying event and there were tons of amazing jumpers of both skiing and snowboarding persuasion. I sat and watched them from the lodge when I got a little tired. What a way to spend the down time!
